Washington County John Gaston Mount was born on 29 Jul 1775 in Upper Freehold, NJ. He died on 25 Jan 1850 in Brighton, Washington Co., IA. Son of James and Jane (Gaston) Mount in MOUNT OF NEW AMSTERDAM SECTION. They lived, first in New York State and later moved to Ohio where they lived in Hamilton, Warren and Butler Counties. They later moved to Brighton, Washington County, Iowa, where they lived the remainder of their lives.
