He married Prudence Mount, daughter of Ezekiel Mount. She was his cousin, daughter of his father's half -brother. Humphrey is the son of Nesbit and Mary (Hay) Mount. They moved to Virginia prior to 1792. Humphrey Mount served as a Pvt. in the American Revolution under Gen. Count Pulaski, but due to loss of his service records, by the Army, he was denied a pension for this service when he applied at Harrison County Court House in 1818.

Montgomery County David Cecil Mount 1785-1852  was born 1785 in Montgomery County, Virginia, and died April 10, 1852 in Montgomery County Virginia.  He married MARGARET PEGGY CLINE April 05, 1809 in Montgomery County, Virginia.  She was born 1782 in Virginia, and died October 1880 in Logan County, West Virginia.
